Wednesday afternoon at the beach

Wednesdays are half-days for the schools here in Hawaii, so this Wednesday, we decided to head up to the North Shore. We had a Flat Stanley project to take some pictures with, and we just hadn't been to the beach for awhile ~ we needed some sunshine and happiness around here. It's been a tough couple of weeks, and it was a gorgeous day to be outside.

We saw this sea turtle, sunning itself on the rocks at Haleiwa Beach Park.

Another view of the turtle.

The reasons I smile everyday.....

...and Flat Stanley!

Everyone show me a shaka! (except Sam, who says, "What are you people doing?" It's sad that he'll never remember Hawaii).

Sam got his pigs dipped. He kicked and splashed and smiled and laughed!

Gorgeous shot of Madeline.

After some serious shell-finding, we ended our afternoon getting some shave ice at Aoki's. We thought about going to Matsumodo's, but the line was INSANE. Sam thoroughly enjoyed mooching from his siblings and Mama.

Everyone looks so happy to be on the beach, even Flat Stanley. I wish I was there too!
